DNA
2019
Emery Station
Emeryville, CA
Painted Aluminum, Polycarbonate, LED lighting
23’ x 5’ dia

DNA draws inspiration from the biotech and life-sciences research taking place on the Wareham Development Campus. The surface pattern is an abstraction of DYS markers. These markers are used in genealogical DNA testing and help to create a genetic profile of an individual. The sculpture comes alive in the evenings with animated color-changing lights.
